Description
Irezumi tiger (tora, 虎) — a traditional Japanese tattoo motif of a snarling, descending tiger, drawn with bold outlines, striped orange-and-black fur, and a slightly cat-like Edo-period face. It stands for courage, earthly strength, and protection against misfortune, and is classically paired with bamboo and wind. The tiger rules the land as the dragon rules the sky.
